Car Rental Prices at Popular Holiday Destinations in the UK Drop
3rd of April
This may come as a surprise, but a research performed by GetRentalcar.com has shown that car rental prices for key holiday periods in 2012 are now 45% cheaper than they were a couple of years ago.
The research takes into account 6 cities that are popular holiday destinations. These cities are Palma, Faro, Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife, and Murcia. Car rental prices in these cities during Easter and Whit Week have been dropping since 2010 and in some cities these prices have dropped by as much as 45%.
Car rental prices are the lowest during Whit week at all of those destinations. Prices are around 26% cheaper on the average during this period.
Travellers in Spain, who book through GetRentalcar.com, will find that car rental prices during this popular holiday week are 34% cheaper. For example, in Malaga an eight-day rental of a mini-economy car costs only £63.89. This is about 44% cheaper than the prices offered for the same period in 2010. In Alicante, it only costs £82.59 to rent a medium sized family car. This is 45% lower than what it would cost to rent the same car in 2010.
Easter is also another holiday period where car rental prices also go way down. In Palma, car rental prices are around 33% cheaper than what they were two years ago. Car rental prices for a large family car in Tenerife are only £127.35. Two years ago it would cost £211.62 to rent the same type of vehicle.
